Guidelines for Nexy Offtopic
============================
Nexy Offtopic is a public Matrix room focused on having fun, sharing joy, and most importantly
pressing buttons that should never be pressed while being distracted by shiny things.
There are a wide range of topics discussed, ranging from pure mindless shitposting, all the way to
some deep philisopical or political issues. It is important to note that you should have fun, and
that nexy offtopic is **not** a "free speech" room.

Offtopic is open to all, but follows a wide range of policy lists to keep out known bad actors.
The moderation team is made up of a few volunteers who I (nexy) trust to carry the key to the
gates when I am unavailable.

Below are some general things you should keep in mind when engaging with nexy offtopic:

* You should be respectful. Make clear if you are being playfully mean, etc, as tone may not be universally interpreted.
* Inclusion is a priority.
* Do not share inappropriate content.
* Do not share personal information, be it your own, or someone else's.
* Do not disrupt the room or create spammy messages
* Debate and disagreement is fine so long as it does not get out of hand. Take personal drama to direct messages.
* While adult topics are fine for discussion, nexy offtopic is not an adult room and detail or
  extended conversations on the topic should be taken elsewhere.
* While there's a running joke about the room breaking monthly, it is incredibly disruptive. Please
  do not attempt to break the room.
* Do not attempt to circumvent automatic moderation protections.

There is a dedicated spam room at https://matrix.to/#/#spam:nexy7574.co.uk, if you would like to
partake in behaviours that are typically spammy. You can invite bots there, send a tonne of
messages at once, send huge chunks of text etc, whatever your heart desires. Keep it out of nexy OT.

Moderation
==========
Nexy offtopic is protected by ~10 policy lists for crowdsourced moderation. There is also a small group
of additional human moderators around to make sure things run smoothly and respond to complaints

		Mentioning these bots will send a ping to every moderator automatically.

If you or your server is banned, you should send a DM to someone in the room to get in contact
with moderators to contest the ban.
If you don't know anyone in the room, you should attempt to contact @nex:nexy7574.co.uk in another
room (if you are banned from my rooms, you also won't be able to send me a DM, so I'll need to
send one to you first) and go from there.
